Busy Season'08

For those of you already in our wonderful profession, hope you have a fantastic busy season....and are excited for the coming months. Say goodbye to the Sun for now.
I'm not mentally geared for this busy season yet and I'm already on deadlines and such. So not completing any work is just not going to help me. Oh well, the work's going to get done eventually right. Or is that just the wrong attitude to carry going into Busy Season'08...guess I have to wait and watch or get on my arse and start plowing through stuff right now.

Why in the hell do you work for those jerks? Go out on your own or something, make more $ and work when you want. I can't for the life of me understand why any one would put themselves through that BS.

i really can't accept a staff accountant position at another company, where's the upside long term there?

I do, but what do I do..take an accountant position somewhere. I have to wait it out for a little bit before I can get a good position with upside.

Why can't you go out on your own? Be your own boss...
I would not work for some one else with a CPA!

I just finished the last of my CPA exams yesterday and I feel the exact same way....what can ya do...you gotta wait around a little while and put up with the crap before you can get a good position and strike out on your own if you do choose to do so..

I agree, to go out on your own,you need more than just a few years of experience.Easier said than done.

It must not be the same in the USA as it is in Canada. When I get my CA, I will and can go out on my own right away. I am looking forward to not being any ones slave and being on my own.
